First ever game played at Cardea Playing fields
A long and often stressful 5 year journey to get football played on the Cardea playing fields came to a end last weekend.
We finally saw the playing fields in use as the under 9's at the partner club of the CCSA, played a fabulous game and marked the occasion with the style it deserved by putting in a great performance, thus starting a new journey for sports at Cardea.
I would like to thank the members of the committee of the Cardea Community Sports Association (CCSA) for all their support in making this happen. There is still much to do, in that we need some additional line marking done and some 11v11 goalposts erected but finally we are there!!
A huge sense of acheivement and a hearty well done to all concerned. But we won't be resting on our laurels. As always the CCSA, working with our partners, will always seek to provide the best quality facilities. It is an amazing feeling to see the pitches being used and so many young people taking part in sports with the support of their families.
Moving forward we will be seeing football played most Saturdays and Sundays throughout this season, then adding in adult football on the site for next season once the pavilion has been completed.
Who knows where this drive, teamwork and togetherness will take us over the next 5 years ...... did someone say 3G???
